You arrive at the edge of the sea where the town still believes in old dreams.
It is a place of salt air and faded freedom, where people gather to hear the announcement of a miracle. A woman has won money. The crowd turns toward the promise that something outside of them might finally arrive.
But somewhere in the gathering there is already a whisper.
This will be trouble.
The harbour releases its offering: a horse made not of flesh but cement. A monument pretending to be alive. It enters the water like a forgotten god returning to the sea, and before it can carry anyone anywhere its head breaks away.
The dream knows something before you do.
Not every vessel is capable of carrying us.
The scene changes.
A room. A bed. An old man with money folded into the soft landscape of his body. Wealth hidden not in a vault but beneath the skin. Another man arrives laughing, throwing handfuls of stolen fortune into the air as though money might become joy if there was enough of it.
But you are not inside the room.
You are watching.
The dream keeps you at the threshold.
Later, detectives search the abandoned remains of an escape. The getaway vehicle is not a car but a bed. Something designed for intimacy has been transformed into flight.
You step away.
You climb above the harbour.
Below you are the old economies: possession, theft, spectacle, punishment.
Above you there is only wind.
A couple ask you to dance, but even this invitation carries a demand. The man leaves. The expectation dissolves.
Then the orange bird arrives.
No announcement.
No fortune.
No stolen treasure.
Only a song.
And you dance, not because anyone has asked you to, but because the body remembers a language older than money.
I’ll only dance my way.
Perhaps this is the small rebellion hidden inside the dream: not escaping the world, but refusing to be owned by its measures of value.
The horse lost its head.
The bird found its voice.
